Creating Safer Roads with Cheshire West and Chester
(Posted on 28/03/17)
Gatewen Training Services has recently facilitated the delivery of CPC Periodic Driver Training for Cheshire West and Chester in association with P&G LGV Driver Training.
As part of a managed training service, Gatewen Training offers Cheshire West and Chester (CWAC) a one-stop-solution for all its training needs. The training company worked with CWAC to identify the training needs of staff working throughout the local authority.
As of September 2008, all commercial drivers of buses, coaches and lorries of 3.5 tons and upwards must hold a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC). Drivers must complete thirty five hours of approved training every five years to retain this certificate. The seven day courses includes modules such as driver hours and tachographs, safe and fuel-efficient driving, and vulnerable road users to name a few.
Commenting on the quality of the training provision, Dave Cupit of Cheshire West and Chester, said:
“The course participants found the course to be interesting and engaging. It is vital our employees retain their professional driver qualifications and undertake their work in a safe and responsible manner. We were therefore pleased with the training provided by Gatewen Training Services and P&G LGV Driver Training.”
